> Help! I feel so awful since I stopped taking the last 75 mg. dose of Effexor that I'm thinking of gong back on it. I feel like I have the flu, a huge hangover and total morning sickness and it had been almost a week since I took my last dose. Please don't tell me to call my doctor. She has told me when I was going on Effexor that the side effects were pretty much in my head. Isn't it adding insult to injury to tell a person who is dealing with depression that the side effects from medication are not real? How long does it take to feel physically normal again. I have to go lie down . . .

The worst withdrawal I ever had was coming off of Effexor. I was taking 300mg a day and decided to stop one day. I have never felt so sick in my life. I finally called my doctor and he told that indeed it was withdrawal. He had me start taking the Effexor again and to taper off over a period of about 2 weeks. IT's happened to me twice and I don't want to ever take Effexor again because of the withdrawal. It is certainly NOT in your head. I'd get a new psychiatrist if mine told me that.
