Until I started reading the postings on this page I had no idea whatsoever that Paxil could lead to weight gain, and boy have I been packing on the pounds. I have been on Paxil for about 1 year now and take alternating 20mg and 30mg per day. I feel like a new person, as far as being happier, in a better frame of mind, enjoying my real life again. I no longer spend hours and hours locked away in my room feeling ill, which is wonderful. But at the same time I have been getting fatter and fatter, gained close to 25 pounds so far, and that I hate!! I don't know what wellbutrin is exactly and would love it if someone would explain it to me. To imagine that I could feel great and not be fat is a dream come true for me!! I also had my thyroid TSH levels checked this week and it has dropped to a very low .05, which suggests I am hyperthyroid. This strikes me as odd, because I am getting fatter and fatter and I certainly don't have a ton of energy like hyperthyroid people generally do. I wonder if the depression came on because of the thyroid condition which didn't show up in the blood work a year ago???? Let me know what you think.
Thanks for your time.
