boB has not only become a friend through this site but also something of an alter-ego for me, and a good one at that. He continuously challenges me to think outside of the box. He often waits until I have stretched as far as I think I can, and then he shows me with tact and intelligence and humor just how rigid I still am. I appreciate that. At a much younger age, I might have considered him an antagonist instead of a friend -- but today I treasure his thoughtful comments, even when they are critical of my thinking and beliefs. Thanks, boB.
(Yes, we really are two different people, although one of the most beautiful things boB once suggested to me was that when I am bitterly self-critical and it is manifesting as cynicism towards unseen potential, he rushes in like another part of me to challenge the self-hatred and trap-like judgment that goes with it. He never responds as I think he'll respond -- if I could see it coming, I would already have addressed it in what I post. He always pushes me, gently, firmly, to consider expanding further.)
