Maggie - The stuff I found on vision problems I gleaned from Effexor's monograph and a medical dictionary to make sure I knew what they were saying. Yes, I have heard of transient vision problems (they went away with use) with Effexor and even one person who had to stop using it because of this.
I would recommend looking the information you want on PubMed, which can be reached by going to:
www.mentalhealth.com - Click on reseach (left box); then click on drug research (right box); scroll to Effexor and click (left box); click on drug interactions (left box) and click on SEND (bottom of left box). Have fun scrolling through the articles.
