My ophthalmologist's questionnaire when I go for my check-up every other year always asks if I have floaters and I always say yes. But no one there has ever told me that it's a problem. Frankly I don't know what they are, but figure if I've had them this long there's no harm in 'em.Noa, I've always had floaters too, and like allisonm, I used to play with them as a kid (would lie by a swimming pool, watching the floaters). I haven't noticed any weird visual things from Effexor-XR (am on 375 mg/day), although with Serzone, I had an "ocular migraine" (no head pain, just weird scintillating lines that wiped out parts of my vision in one eye for a minute). Also, when I waved my hands at night, on Serzone, I could see "traces" (kind of like you see when you wave a sparkler, in the dark). It was kind of fun, really (but my pdoc didn't seem to think it was great; I hope he didn't think I was a doper or anything, since I'm not).
