Annie-

I'm struggling with this myself. Faith, or religion,
can be the foundation of one's belief system. For
some people it can be and is the one foundation
they have. Having said that, I've found that most
people who are 'religious' tend to 'pick and choose'
from the dictates of their religion to suit themselves.

(I do not want to start a religion war here. I will
not participate in one. My opinion is my own and
is not meant to offend or discredit)

back to Annie-

One's belief system defines who that person IS.

Faith/no faith, work ethic/lack of it, one's
concept and practice of what is right and wrong,
opinions, stances on social and moral issues,
morality itself, responsibilities to one's self
and others, obligations to one's self and others
and to society or even the world.

I could go on but I'd probably repeat myself.

The simple answer is that to know or define one's
self, one must know and define his beliefs.

Did this help?
