Anderson - Sorry I missed your post. It has been a little hectic here the past few days.

There should be no problem switching directly to Paxil from clomipramine. Even though the two drugs are from different drug classes (SSRI and TCA, respectively), their actions in depresssion, anxiety disorders, OCD, and anxiety disorders are similar. Paxil is a less toxic drug in overdose and is generally considered equivalent to clomipramine in effect, but if it doesn't work (give it 8 weeks) you should have no problem switching back to the clomipramine. Actually, because you have been taking the clomipramine, the Paxil may show full effects a little sooner.Paxil side effects like nausea dizziness and headache, if you get them, are transient and should disappear in a week or two.
