how does this really work?

Posted by Angela on May 19, 2000, at 17:07:09

i started 2 years ago on zoloft and switched to celexa about a year later due to the decreased sex drive side effect thtat zoloft has. i was doing fine on both meds and had no problems until march of this year. my doc took me off the celexa and put me on effexor xr for a while, then took me off that and put me on luvox & norpramin. just this week, he took me off the luvox and, because i asked him about doing this, he put me back on the zoloft. i started taking the zoloft on wednesday of this week, that was my first dose, and on thursday, i felt absolutely perfect. i had some intrusive thoughts, but nothing like the ones in the past. today, friday, i feel like total shit. i'm crying and i don't know why, i have all the "what ifs" going through my head, i'm analyzing everything - nothing like how i felt yesterday.

my question is this: is that really the zoloft working after just one dose and then letting me down already? my pdoc told me that he once took zoloft for 3 days and his symptoms were gone. whats the real deal here?
