Epilim and BPD

I'm hoping someone can help me. I am trying to find info on the med "Epilim" also known as sodium valproate. I have recently been prescribed this,I am on 400mg in the morning and 600mg at nite after building up to this amount over 1 month and know nothing about it except its meant to be kind of like lithium but its quite new. I have BPD and I am also on Aropax 20mg in the morning and Imovane 15mg at nite. I would really appreciate any feedback as I hate not knowing what I am taking. Also, is the mix I'm taking safe? Thanks!
