Lynne - As with any psychiatric med, the body adjusts to the med by altering concentrations of neurotransmitters and receptor concentrations. The amount of time this takes differs in everyone. Usually you should see some benefit by 4 to 8 weeks. About this time the start up side effects, like excessive drowsiness, begin to disappear.
