The reason i ask this question is that ive been arguing with my pdoc over diagnosis....i have been dxed 4 years with bipolar disorder but recently have a new pdoc and he has diagnosed BPD. He does seem to be backtracking though at first he said that i wasnt mentally ill at all and took me off all my meds, now he has me back on lithium and amisulpride too......i have been on ativan haldol zopiclone diazepam and mellaril also....just checking to see if he has changed his mind wanted opinions.....thanx

Becky,

I can't really be much help to you but I can say that BPD is treated with medicines and it is not unusual to use an atypical antipsychotic in such treatment. Amisulpride is in that class of meds as is Zyprexa, which is in some ways very similar to amisulpride. Amisulpride isn't available in the US. Zyprexa is though and is used for BPD.
