Vesper,
SSDI is generally transferable between states because it is federally subsidized. You may be asked to give your reasons for moving and probably will have to re-file your claim. Probably your best bet would be to check this info with your local and potential SS offices, but I'm relatively sure you'll be OK.
As far as your other situation, It's none of my business BUT.... I wouldn't tolerate someone showing me that kind of disrespect. It sounds like your girlfriend is just being plain mean and knows it. You are being taken advantage of my friend. Your health and happiness starts at home, you have to take care of you first. I don't like being alone either, but I'd rather be alone than be treated like that. You have to do what you feel is right for you, and you have my support with whatever you decide. But quite frankly I'd tell her not to let the door hit her in the ass on the way out!
I hope you don't find me intrusive with my comments and will forgive me if I'm out of line, but Vesper, I've been there and done that. You deserve better.
Let me know how it goes with the SSDI, OK?
Peace,
Greg> Hi, I haven't posted in awhile, things have been kinda overwhelming. I am seeing a pdoc and "case manager" in Santa Monica. They have me on Wellbutrin SR and Ativan(1mg at bedtime) I have not taken the wellbutrin an a week or so, and the ativan is hit and miss. I have a girlfriend Wendy, it's hard cause she's younger, and knows it all, if you know what I mean! She can make everything hurtful she does sound like it's my fault. I'm so afraid to be alone again I will let her treat me any way she wants. I think I will kill myself when she finally decides to leave me. I'm 33 years old and not very successful in the accepted sense, and I can't see anyone else ever wanting to be with me. I listen to Indigo Girls and she likes Eminem! ack!!!! I try to explain how that kind of vitriol is sick and hurtful, but she just thinks its "funny." I love her though, I see the pain she has been through, and the potential for her life and want to see her blossom....sorry I;m rambling. Anyone know the effects of moving to another state while on SSDi?
