Having both given and received same both on and off-line on occassion, I've found both can be useful for learning, on reflection, in either venue. People are not always kind in all situations and at all times, even here. However if they are thoughtful and generally civil, we can all learn from it, if we so choose.

My choice has been to work on being more consistently civil, but also to continue to vigorously question when and where appropriate, whatever it is I'm focusing on. And sometimes, to just let it be...
