I have been on medication for about 8 years now. I have tried all the SSRI's - Effexor, Serzone, Zoloft, Paxil,Wellbutrin and they all gave me insomnia, nervousness, agitation, aggressive. I have also been on Desyrel, Imipramine and Doxepin.
The doxepin I have been augmenting with the elavil hoping to lessen the side effects of the elavil (weight gain!!!) for about 4-5 weeks now. If any side effects were going to go away or stay, I would think this time frame would show me what I can expect with this combo, right?
I have been taking the doxepin (50 mg.) with 75 mg. elavil. I have slowly gone to 50 mg. elavil but am finding that I am even hungrier now with this combo than when I was just on elavil! What now? Should I look into the meds I show below?
I was looking into trimipramine. Would this be a good one to try? I realize that the meds affect everyone differently but I'm hoping that staying in the class of drugs, I will still get the sleep, which I need and have had problems with on other meds, and losing the carbohydrate cravings!
Another med I was reading about was ludiomil. Any thoughts or feedback on this one also?
I have tried getting off the medication but within a week, the depression comes back so I know that it is definately a chemical imbalance we are dealing with here.
So, in closing, if anyone has any help or ideas concerning trimipramine or ludiomil, it would be great if you could let me know your thoughts on these two?
