I agree with James. But there are sometimes exceptions to the rule. These are called "parodoxical reactions". The drugs do the opposite things in some people. I doubt that this is the case.I am suspicious that what you really have going on here might be AD/HD (attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder) made worse by SSRI drugs like Zoloft and Luvox. I have not seen any literature associating SSRIs with a worsening of AD/HD. It is only speculation on my part based upon the interactions of different chemicals in the brain. I would screen your kids for AD/HD.
Another possibility is that both of your children have bipolar disorder. In this case, the antidepressants might have induced a manic-type state. Any family history of bipolar disorder? Symptoms of mania and hypomania often include increased activity, irritability, and rage.
In children, bipolar disorder and AD/HD look very similar and are often misdiagnosed as one or the other. To make matters more difficult, AD/HD and bipolar disorder often occur in the same child.
