Almost EXACTLY an hour later I was sitting outside, reading, having a butt and drinking herbal tea when BAM, all of a sudden pain radiated from the back of my neck into my brain and I felt like I had 100 litres of blood in my brain just bursting to get out. I had also smoked about four or five cigarettes there (stress).

> Went to a clinic, he didn't know what to do (what a knob - hypertension and you don't know what to do to alleviate it? - I had the name of the drug written down but again, it was at home -- gotta start putting this all in m palm pilot). Anyways he called another doctor and gave me an anti-hypertensive med and sent me home. When I woke up three hours later and took my BP it was really low, when I was up for a while it was back up to 134/90 which is high for me but at least the headache was gone.

>
> kashi cereal with soy milk, splenda
> cream cheese on a bun with cranberry jelly
> 3/4 c yoghurt with 1/2 c ricotta cheese and 1/2 c blueberries
> 2 litres of celestial seasonings toffee tea
> 3 caramel tastetations
> 4 mercendyl pills (muscle relaxants, contain coedine and acetamenophine as well as some other drug); something I have taken before with no problems.
>
> Well I'm definitely cutting out the milk products as I'm allergic to them anyways in case they were causing a problem.

> The dr advised me to lower my parnate back to the 20 mg a day which I agreed with.

> :-) ToriTori,
I doubt that your increase in Parnate caused your hypertensive crisis. However, the higher dosage with the codeine probably caused it. I take 80 mg Parnate and pretty much eat what I want, but I have avoided codeine and other contraindicated drugs. If you need this muscle relaxer, I think you will have to switch to another class of AD
