I can't comment on celexa, as I am not familiar with it personally. Ritalin SR, for me, was mediocre compared to Adderall, which I just started a few weeks ago. I have been on Ritalin for about 5-6 years, and it has never been addictive for me.
Your cottonball description reminded me that when I was hypothyroid, I felt like I had a head full of cotton.
