Weight gain from going off Effexor

Posted by Shanda Lybrook on November 14, 2000, at 15:33:11

I was on Effexor for about one year until I was advised by my physician to go off of it due to it possibly being the cause of my hormones being imbalanced. My weight has been usually steady if not slowly decreasing since the birth of my son nearly three years ago. (I still wanted to lose 10 more pounds). Well, once I weaned myself off the meds, I gained 15 pounds in one month. I'm hoping this is temporary. I've lost five pounds of what I gained already, but only because I'm dieting. Has anyone else had this happen from going off the medication?
