At first Celexa disrupted my sleep patterns, keeping me up at night and all. But, after the side effects wore off (about 2 weeks or so) I began to take it in the evening and it's been great for me ever since. Since we all react differently to these meds, my advice is to wait about a month, see how it effects you after the side effects wear off and adjust your dosage time accordingly. It's a good medication, and helps me tremendously with anxiety. A very welcome side effect.
Good luck

She said I could continue Trazadone at night for sleeping as needed, but should cut off the xanax as Celexa should help with anxiety.

This side effect lasted a week or so for me and it is completely GONE now, so I do think it works well for anxiety. But I was shocked when the first few days I felt worse than before I started taking it. I also take Remeron at night to help me sleep although I hope to phase it out (makes me TOO groggy). Good luck.
