In reply to How much prozac to add to Effexor?, posted by LD on November 30, 2000, at 8:55:13
Read the chefs recipe I posted a couple of days ago. This is my own brew of Paxil and Effexor which I have found a blessing to me.
I don't know your reasons for doing this combo.
I switched round to Paxil which is very like prozac because it did not have the problems with Effexor. i.e. Crushing withdrawals. Unstability. Stong physical side effects. Predisposition to mania. Anxious excitability.>
My doctor also suggested lowering the Effexor while increasing the Prozac eventually. I would really apprieciate any input on thisI have gone reverse and add effexor to Paxil. Probably you have tried Prozac before. The combo is a knockout. Thats why I posted my brew so proudly.
The Paxil like prozac will provide a serotonin cushion more stable than any drug free human brain. Effexor has a real Nerotransmission take off process ready to add its Norephramine action.
I can feel Norephramine transmission after an hour on just 25mg. Its like a fresh rush clearing through my brain right through my eyes. I look in the mirror and its like I had my brain switched on. From what I've read Norephramine gets the frontal lobes in gear. Thats whats I have been missing. Great thats where the reflection of conscious process happens. Up front. To be trapped in the middle Cortex is confusion hell. Also, how safe is this in regard to seratonin syndrome?
I dont know what Seratonin Syndrome is. I have little worried about that. I have'nt seen as many postings on prozac withdrawal as I have Effexor.
I have only tried Effexor a fortnight and when I stopped I felt like a ton of bricks. I just lay glued to the floor.>
My question is what is an appropriate amount of Prozac to add.I find 20mg of Paxil day gets my Serotonin back to stable. Still I feel sluggish, lazy.
When I feel like a boost I only need 25mg of Effexor.
