In reply to Effexor XR-starting today any feedback?, posted by Carr on January 2, 2001, at 20:28:01
> Hi! I finally went to my doctor today about some severe anxiety I've been having after two pretty bad car accidents. The anxiety has been preventing me from doing my job well, which involves alot of social interaction with clients on the daily basis. The doc has prescribed me to start with 37.5 mg of Effexor XR for 2 weeks then increase to 75mg/day. Are there success stories out there for the treatment of general Anxiety with effexor XR, do you feel stronger in social situations, not so plagued by the butterflies 24/7? How soon do you see a difference? I'm concerned about the 'negative dream' aspect and withdrawl effects I've heard about on the threads. Does anyone think these are possible on what seems to be a relatively low dosage? Any success, I would appreciate hearing about.Does this drug make you more or less tired, I'm not clear. The other med I've taken for this was lorazepam short-term, it didn't seem to help. Lot's of questions I know, Thanks.
Effexor XR is GREAT!!!! I've seen the negative posts also that's why I'm here. Stick with it!! I had awful anxiety and am feeling normal. The side effects are not so nice at first but they even out with time. Don't get discouraged. I started with 75 mg. I felt mentally better but physically worse at first, but like I said it all evens out!!! If it works for you, it will work GREAT!!
