Permanent brain damage from stimulants?

Posted by PhoenixGirl on January 30, 2001, at 14:51:04

I've read that stimulants can cause permanent neurotransmitter depletion when used long-term. Apparently drugs that cause the RELEASE of neurotransmitters, rather than blocking their reuptake, cause the damage. I read that people who take stimulants long term have improved sexual functioning at first, but then lost their sexual functioning because of a depletion of dopamine. I'd like to hear from people who have been on stimulants for years.
