For most people SAM-e should not be taken after around 12 noon since it can cause jitteriness that can interfere with sleep. I agree with your decision to take just one pill in the morning for now. You can increase it at a later date if needed.
Are you taking SAM-e for depression? Is it helping? What brand are you taking? I have been taking SAM-e for over 2 years. I also take Celexa. This combo works very well for me.
> I started taking SAMe about twelve days ago, and found it to cause jitters and anxiety on two pills (200mg ea) a day. I am careful to take the pills on an empty stomach, taking the second dosage around 5:00 pm. Being familiar with numerous antidepressants and their side-efects, I was surprised to find these effects of SAMe to be so signifigant. Has anyone found these side-effects to subside in time or figured out how to combat them while still getting the possible benefits. I am, and have been taking multiple vitamins and weekly injections of B12 along with daily B1 for about 4 months now. Any suggestions? I will reduce the SAMe dosage to one pill daily first thing in the morning for now.
