Hi all,
I was intrigued by Rogdog's post about Ultram for OCD.
Northernlight.com is full of studies showing the use of
Ultram among other opiates like morphine in the treatment
of severe and treatment resistent OCD. There are interesting
similarities between OCD and addiction like alcoholism and
self injurious behavior as well (picking, cutting.) See
Dr. Bob's tips on naltrexone for more information about
the opiate system of reward and depression.
I also found out that opiates were used in before 1950 to
treat depression.
I just passed this information onto my doctor. She was
recommending that a try a stimulent like provigil in the
meantime to the effexor. I recall reading the the stimulents
tended to increase obsessional thinking. Oh well.I would be very curious to here more about opiates in the
possible role of treating obsessional types depression.Best wishes to all and thank you for all your comforting
remarks last week when I was having a rough go.JasonL
