In case you don't want to invest in the Stahl book (mucho expensive, but worth it), you may find this Scientific American article on "The Neurobiology of Depression" by Charles B. Nemeroff helpful. (He's a biggie in the psych field.) Some of, but apparently not all, the links within the article lead to additional info.

Also, if you're not familiar with it, the tAPir site on anxiety and panic may interest you (assuming that the animated home page doesn't *cause* more anxiety than it relieves).
A number of people have found the "Anxiety and Phobia Workbook" by Bourne quite helpful. If interested, click on the "Books" link at the top of this page and select "Psychobabble" under "Recommendations from other sources."
