i am seeing my psych in 2 weeks and will ask him about all the suggestions i receive on this site, so thanx to everyone for taking the time to post your responses.
of all the meds i've tried, serzone gave me the greatest number of problems. i turned into a shuffling zombie, and finally got to the point that i couldn't bring myself to put another pill in my mouth. i feel myself getting to the same point with effexor xr but i know i must be weaned off them because i just stopped taking serzone and spent one of the worst weekends of my life, suffering withdrawal symptoms.
the psychiatrist i see is affiliated with a counseling service; i don't know whether or not he works at a teaching hospital too. before starting on effexor xr, we discussed welbutrin but he said that it wouldn't deal with one of my problems, although i can't recall which. i suffer from anxiety, depression and i guess what you would call inertia.
thanx, again, to everyone for their advice. keep it coming!
:)
