When I was younger... I used to be bothered by the same obsessions.
But what changed for me was age and experience, and distractions like children, mortgages, more bills and things like that.

I don't mean to minimize your obsession, but this type of obsession does seem to go away as you get older and as you get more secure in your relationship.
