> I just started serzone this week. My doctor has me taking both doses at night to prevent nausea. I'm pretty groggy in the morning but no other side effects yet. Does it make you gain/lose weight? I'm starting with low doses this week and working my way up (one of those sample packs from the dr.). I've read lots of negative reports - any positive ones out there? =)
I've been taking Serzone since last June. It has worked well for me, and I"ve had no weight gain problems. In fact I lost a few lbs. I believe I lost weight because I was less anxious, and reached for comfort snacks less, but I'm not sure. I don't really think the serzone effected me along the lines of weight or appetite.
It did take me several weeks (maybe 6!) before the side effects lessened and almost diappeared. It was worth it because by then I was sleeping better, less anxious, and definately less depressed.
After increasing dosage slowly, I was taking 400 mg (2x per day), I did notice a problem with getting tired. Once this happened I told my Dr and backed off to 300 mg, and added Celexa. This change was after several months.
As they say, everyone is different. I definately had serious side effects in the first few weeks, and then it got better. I hope you have the posative experience I did. Hang in there.
