Maybe you've answered your own question. Perhaps you should ask? You have to remember that we're in Canada and even a psychiatrist wouldn't want to offend their patient by suggesting that they may have a "mental disorder." The internist I saw had no problem saying that I had probable MS or inflammation of the brain, yet never asked about depression or anxiety. And here I was trying to figure out how one got a sickness of the brain? Never heard of it before!
Regarding my own diagnosis, I found it in a book. Never heard of it before, but it fit, so I wrote it down and asked my then gp about it. He said yeah that's what they figure I have. Well, shucks after three years hadn't he thought to mention it to me???? ONLY in Canada!!

My husband works for the CMHA and he says if everyone can fit into some criteria of a disorder.

Today I watched a movie called "Mumford" with a friend from childhood. There was a patient with CFS and my buddy said, "Hey she looks like you!" I brewed for a bit. Maybe I need a younger psychologist??? ; )
