Can anyone recommend a genuinely knowledgeable and open-minded psychiatrist in San Francisco? I used to go to a treatment center here that was great, but the person who ran it retired and it has now closed. They were willing to give just about anything a try if they thought it was safe and had even a modicum of a chance of helping.
But since it's closed I've only found doctors who know little if anything beyond the most common protocols and who are unwilling to consider the kinds of unorthodox or innovative treatments often mentioned on this board. Some were reasonably compassionate people (and some, discouragingly, were not), but they nonetheless didn't know about new directions and didn't particularly care about exploring.
I can't try every psychiatrist listed under my health plan till I find a good one. So I'm hoping someone on this board has a good suggestion.
