From what I recall the study from the NIMH on
SJW used the high quality German brand market as Kira in the US. The study used a daily dose of 900 mg/day. A lot of anecdotal evidence suggest that the therapeutic dose for major depression is closer to 1800 mg/day. I tried St. John's wort during a deep depression and got a 2 week response at 1800 mg/day. Another trial I used only 900 mg/day and after 6 weeks it did nothing.
