There are some reports of increased anger with lorazepam (the exception--not the norm, I believe). One clinical trial suggests it can increase negative symptoms:
Garcia C. Micallef J. Dubreuil D. Philippot P. Jouve E. Blin O. Effects of lorazepam on emotional reactivity, performance, and vigilance in subjects with high or low anxiety. Journal of Clinical Psychopharmacology. 20(2):226-33, 2000 Apr.
"...The results suggest that at the doses studied, lorazepam led to an increase in negative emotions and a decrease in positive emotions, compared with placebo..."Another study:
Garcia C. Philippot P. Lacarelle B. Valli M. Rime B. Bruguerolle B. Blin O. Effects of lorazepam on film-induced differentiated emotions in healthy volunteers. Fundamental & Clinical Pharmacology. 11(5):466-75, 1997.
"On the Differential Emotions Scale and during fear induction, lorazepam induced a significantly higher increase in fear, anxiety and disgust emotions than placebo..."
