Effexor fatigue-PMS mediated depression

Posted by AnneL on May 18, 2001, at 0:37:51

Either I have terrible PMS (probably PMDD) or my depression really kicked my rear-end last weekend. I increased my dose of Effexor from 112.5 to 150 mg. and started feeling better within 2 days. Two problems:
1. Effexor makes me feel a little "flat" or apathetic
and 2. I think my depression is exacerbated by my menstrual cycle. Caffeine makes me feel worse pre-menstrually, but really helps my mood pick up post-menstrually. I find I am needing more and more caffeine to keep the "up" mood going. I am thinking I
may be helped with the addition of Wellbutrin or Prozac. Any ideas or suggestions? I am currently seeing an internist who is very amenable to trying things out, but I will need to offer some evidence or sources of information. Thanks in advance, AnneL
