Of course the old caveat.. everyone is different, but I can tell you that Wellbutrin and Prozac made me irritable, Effexor made me extremely tired, and Celexa did help my depression without too many side effects except that I gained a lot of weight.. but again, some people lose weight on Celexa. You just have to try it and see.
good luck.> Well, it all depends... Do you also have bipolar troubles? If not, you might get by on it ok. I have bipolar troubles and it tends to aggravate hypomania when I am high and worsen my melancholy when I am down(but helps social and OCD-like anxiety). However, you said that other SSRI's made you anxious and agitated. Would it be safe to say that your doc has switched you to Celexa from Prozac or Zoloft (which tend to be more activating for *most* folks)? I have found it is beter for sleep than those two, but I still can get agitated and restless from it. You might be better off with a non-SSRI antidepressant.

If so, do they ever disappear. I tend to be anxious and agitated on ssri's. How does celexa measure? Iam scared.
