Froggy - The time of day that you take your Effexor XR™ (venlafaxine) is up to you. If the drug sedates you, take it at night; if it energizes you, take it in the morning.

Also, anxiety is a common start-up side effect with SSRIs and Effexor. See my post to Paige for further clarification:

I hope that this is some help. You will need to hang in there for at least another 4 to 6 weeks, in which time the stat-up side effects should dissipate and the antianxiety effects of the Effexor XR should kick in. - Cam
