Start with the 18 mg dose every morning, see what her response is and go up from there as needed. My inattentive ADD 15 yo daughter started it in November and it has really helped her. She has been able to stay on the 18 mg. It is ritalin in a very high tech delivery system. The twelve hour duration of action is very helpful. She has no rebound from it and is able to get her school work done. Before she would sit and look at it from 8:30 am until 11:00 pm without getting it done. She has become an A honor roll student in college prep.
We wish it had been available fifteen years ago.
Our son responded well to ritalin, but the frequent dosing and rebound was a real problem. He quit taking it at thirteen (who wants to go to the nurse's office a couple of times a day)? He is highly intelligent, but still, at twenty, can't sit still to read a page. We feel he could benefit from it now, but he will have to accept that he has ADHD and probably won't we allowed to take it while in the Marines. When he decides to go to college we'll definitely talk to him about it, as we're sure it would make a dramatic difference for him.I hope it is as helpful for your daughter as it has been for ours. She takes it faithfully on her own without any prompting. She realizes how much it has helped her.
Blessings,
Chris A.
