Some folks don't have this trouble and it seems that you have to start the Topamax very low (with the gabapentin pretty much at the dose you intend to stay at) and then increase the TOP VERY SLOWLY and let your body/mind get used to it.

Thanks for your response. I take 200 mg Topomax in am.....it does not cause any cognitive difficulties...but I ramped up slowly...I am now taking 100 mg gabapentin at night..I'm hoping it will have a synergistc effect with the Top so that my anxious and depressive tendencies will be alleviated.
