Blood in urine, Jaundice, and weight loss

I just found out that my Supervisor is in the hospital. He has lost 20 lbs in the last 2 weeks, is jaundice, and had blood in his urine. My first thought was his liver, but it checked out okay. He is and has always been very heavy. Does anyone have any thoughts on what it could be? Thx. Gin
