It usually goes away after a few minutes, but then is back again the next time i awake. Unfortunately its not associated with any great sex dreams. I'm concerned that this is priapism, should I discontinue the serzone? I have no really good way to tell how long the erections last, just that they often seem to be there when I awake. (By the way, I never get this problem during the daytime, not inappropriately at least.)

Mark, Just a wild guess but it is probably more likely related to an increase in total, free and bio-available testosterone. Not that Serzone will increase T levels but if you've come off a more seratonergic drug your T levels, especially bio-available testosterone should be increasing for a while. Seratonergic drugs decimate T levels and it takes a while to get back to normal, after going off them. It is natural to have nocturnal erections if your T levels are normal. The body produces its supply of testosterone at night when you are sleeping.

But that's just my guess. Talk to your doctor!
