I have been on Topamax 500mgm for over a month now and it really has done wonders for my moods-- ie no "boohoos" over nothing and no "screaming-meamies" over nothing! Also I used to run to the closest
bottle of booze or mood altering chemical that I thought helped. I don't do that any more. So I really like the Topamax. But the one problem I encountered beginning at around 200mgm or so was what I call the "itchies"
I found that I became sweaty or if I was out in the direct sunlight within two hours after taking the Topamax, I became maddningly itchy all over! It took quite a while to connect this with the Topamax
Then I also could connect it to sweating! And worse yet, horrible coughing! So was I going to give up the Topamax? NO WAY! I Simply avoid direct sunlight, do not get sweaty, and take 25 mgm of Benadryl twice daily. etc. Has any one else experienced this? Maribeth
