Before trying Effexor for anxiety, exhaust other possibilities!!! I suppose I'd say it "works", but the side-effects and withdrawal symptoms are terrible. I was not warned. I also did not need anything this drastic for my intermittant anxiety (though it has been a lifelong companion to my depression problems). I'm off it now and would never use it again, but I recognize it can be useful for some who don't respond to anything else. Just be informed of the side effects and extreme difficulty coming off this drug.
