sore throat and valprote?

amma poet and i dunna no it. ok about sodium valprote/depakote.
yep my doc said that if I get a sore throat I should see the doc. why is this? he said soething about white blood cells. what does it mean if i get a sore throat (which I now have). and I really cant be bothered going to the doc. whats the worst that can happen?
