Remeron question for Sal et al

My doctor prescribed me Remeron for insomnia. NOT for depression or anxiety. Is this normal? She said it's been "indicated" as treatment for insomnia recently? She doesn't want to prescribe Ambien b/c she said insomnia will only return upon disuse. She also said that REmeron will re-set my sleep cycle so if I take it every day for 3 months I should be back on track.
Does this make sense, any info on Remeron as sleep aid, not as A/D?
Totally different topic - ever heard of "Flextra" for a pain med? I can't read the script and can't find it anywhere. I think it's new b/c doc said some pharmacies don't have it yet? I've been given this for intense, but infrequent, tension headaches.
