So, what can I expect from Lithium?

Well, found out I'm not ADD, I'm bipolar.(could be both)(maybe, maybe not, who knows?) I'm giving Lithium a try and I know no one on it. I was wondering what to expect and what I should avoid. I have read all the info on it, but I would love to hear from some real ppl. Thanks everyone.
