Lamictal causes somnolence/sedation ???

Posted by ben on July 23, 2001, at 11:35:42

Hi I am taking Lamictal for 5 days now (5mg/day) as an augmentation to Paxil (30mg/day). I feel exhausted and have a bad head (somnolence, headache, fatigue, daytime sleepiness). I had this problems with Paxil too, so my doc wanted to ad Lamictal. He mentioned that Lamictal should be a little activating and enhancing the cognitive performance. I dondt know if its the combo or one of this two meds alone causing such feelings. I am not able to concentrate for half an hour ! Any suggestions or experiences ?

P.S. Read this too: Lamictal for ssri augmentation ? Please help !
