> I am rather concerned about my husband. He is 30 years old and a recovering alcholic. He has being seeing a psychiatrist for the past year. He prescribed him paxil, wellbutrin and xanax for his depression and panic attacks. He also asked him to prescribe him something for his sex drive as he has none. So the doc gave him ritalin, about 5 months ago. The ritalin did not heighten his sex drive. However my husband is still taking it because he says that it makes him concentrate. He does not have an ADD. The doctor is very old and has not charged him for one session in the past year by mistake. He has left several messages on are answer machine and doesn't seem to know what day of the week it is. Even my husband thinks he is a little senile. It seems as though this man is giving my husband what ever he asks for. Should my husband be taking ritalin and should I be worried?
> ChristieDittos on the two previous posts. If he isn't abusing Ritalin, craving another dose, creeping higher in dose size, or getting high, then it's likely ok to keep taking it if he thinks it helps. Any sign of abuse, continual dose increasing, or getting high, then that's a different story.
