When I started taking Zyprexa it helped greatly with the obsessive, racing thoughts that bogged down my head but I still had anhedonia/apathy problems for a couple of years. The only thing that ever helped me in that area is Mirapex. It is a dopamine agonist that is primarily prescribed for Parkinson's Disease but has AD qualities and really lifted my anhedonia. I'm almost back to a regular life thanks to pursuing every lead I could find. At first my pdoc was reluctant to prescribe Mirapex for me because he had never heard of its AD qualities but I found a couple of studies on the web that I showed to him and we gave it a try.
Just something to consider even though it's not very common.
