Buspar NEVER cut the anxiety issues with me. I think it is a crappy med. Zoloft, as with many SSRIs may poop out after awhile (like Prozac did for me). For anxiety, Paxil seems to be the drug of choice, especially with panic disorders. Diazepam (Valium) is a POOR choice for anxiety, and may act (in your situation of grief) more as a compounding depressant than a mood stabilizer. Xanax would be a better choice,or Tranzene perhaps. Valium has passed its prime as an anxiolytic, but it WAS the first in the market. Rose, you have more complex problems than your meds. Whereas I am not a proponent of Freudian pyschotherapy for the most part, it does serve a purpose in SITUATIONAL depression/anxiety whatever. Maybe you need that right now.....for a bit. Please get back to me, and I will gladly elaborate.
