Long-Term Benzodiazepine Therapy Does Not Result in Brain Abnormalities
{not from Medline}:"...This study shows that long-term treatment with benzodiazepines is not associated with brain abnormalities as measured by CT scans. Cerebral atrophy, although only mild, was observed more frequently in controls than in patients, and with only one exception, all radiologic indices of brain atrophy were either comparable for benzodiazepine-dependent patients and controls or significantly larger in the control group..."
About Gabapentin and Weight Gain: (Gabapentin shows weight gain of between 1.83 and 5.04 kg) in 3-month trial:
"In contrast to the weight gain observed during treatment with Gabapentin....Weight change was significantly different between LTG (-0.96 ± 3.11 kg), Gabapentin (1.83 ± 5.04 kg)..."
