Hello,
I have been a reader of this board for a couple of months now. I started Effexor XR in April of this year. I started out at 37.5mg and titrated up to 225mg, where I have been about 2 1/2 months. I am also on 100mg of Wellbutrin SR to augment sexual side effects of the Effexor (which does work)Anyway..Once I got up to the 225mg level (it took about 4 weeks to work) I felt great! But for some reason (recently) I feel depression lurking in the shadows. I am tired most of the time, do not have much interest in doing anything. I went to my pdoc and told him how I was feeling, and he suggested we up the dosage to 300mg. I normally take 150mg in the am and 75 mg in the pm. So yesterday I took my usual 150mg in the am and 75mg plus 37.5mg. I decided to make the increase slowly instead of just increasing right up to 300mg.
Is it normal to have to increase a dose that you have become accustomed to? I had a H*** of a time getting through the side effects starting on this medication. I am just wondering if this has happened to anymone else. My moods a stabilized, its just the "blah" feeling day in and day out. I am tired all of time, and( Effexor and Wellbutrin are both activating meds.) All I want to do is sit on the couch and do absolutely nothing.
I am going to increase, but I am wondering what chemicals does this does have effects on, and if 75 more milligrams will make that much of a difference.
Sorry for the book!
Thank You!
Debbie
